Bolaro Shiraz
Wine
Nick O'Leary Bolaro Shiraz is sourced entirely from the Fischer Vineyard east of Murrumbateman in the Canberra District, one of the area's highest altitude vineyards.
The fruit is hand harvested and processed into 1.5 tonne open fermenters. Nearly half of the grapes are included as whole bunches; the remainder are destemmed whole berries.
The wine matures in French oak barrels, around one third new, for 10 months prior to bottling.
Deep dark red, Nick O'Leary Bolaro Shiraz has an alluring sweetness integrated with spicy, savoury notes and tight but silky tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
